Additional Information

This bit has a new design developed for the welfare of the horse. The short and twisted center piece lies flatter between the tongue and palate than in conventional bits. In most bits, the mouthpiece is bent in the same direction as the hole through which the bit ring passes and therefore does not lie flat on the tongue when ridden. The mouthpiece in our bits is rotated 30° forward so that the center piece can lie flat on the tongue when ridden and is more comfortable for the horse. The rotation prevents the joints of the center piece from pressing into the palate. The center piece is rather short compared to conventional bits so that it can lie better on the tongue and cannot slip into the corners of the mouth when the reins are applied on one side.

Since the mouth cavity is completely filled by the tongue muscle, there is hardly any room for a bit. That's why we designed a narrower bit that is more comfortable for the horse to wear. With a diameter of 12mm, it takes up less space than most conventional bits.

The olive head shape of the bit rings prevents skin from getting trapped between the mouthpiece and the bit ring. It also gives the bit a more stable position and makes sideways rein aids more comfortable for the horse.

The bit is carefully crafted and made from a nickel-free copper alloy. This stimulates the production of saliva in the mouth and thus the horse's chewing activity.

The unique ornamentation is reminiscent of the ancient Icelandic culture and gives the teeth a special elegance.

The engraved L on the left bit ring helps to buckle the bit correctly into the bridle. When the horse is bridled, it should be visible on the bottom left of the bit.

This bit complies with FEIF rules and meets international standards. It can therefore be used in sport and breeding competitions.
