What is ATCOM HUF-VITAL?

ATCOM HUF-VITAL is a mineral feed that supports the optimal supply of high-quality micronutrients and natural active ingredients to improve the hoof.
Developed for horses suffering from hoof problems such as:

• brittle or crumbly hooves
• too soft hooves
• Cracks or fissures in the hooves
• slow growing hooves
• Tendency to thrush and/or rot in the white line
• Tendency to increased hoof ulcers hollow or loose walls

Many horses today suffer from hoof problems in the broadest sense. The hooves are either brittle, crumbly or too soft, have cracks or splits, do not grow quickly enough, are too low in the heels or are prone to thrush, rot in the "white line" or increased hoof ulcers.

The shoes only last a short time. Hollow or loose walls can also occur as a result of poor hoof quality. The causes of this are usually the fact that the basic diet is low in nutrients compared to the past. Many horses also suffer from impaired intestinal flora, meaning that the nutrients they receive - if any - cannot be used optimally by the body. Increased concentrated feed, particularly starch-rich feed, exacerbates this. In our view, the selection of feed and the addition of special nutrients are very important here.

Why does biotin alone often not help?

Many horse owners try to get the problems under control by feeding biotin, but usually without much success. Adding biotin alone to the basic feed usually only shows minor or no improvements. Studies have shown that only a fraction of horses with hoof problems suffer from a biotin deficiency. The majority of horses with hoof problems, however, show no improvement when simply feeding biotin. The structure of the hoof horn in these horses is generally softened. The organism lacks the nutrients necessary for the formation of optimal intercellular cement. As we now know, the sulphur-containing amino acids in particular, but also zinc and other nutrients are of great importance here.

Why does ATCOM HUF-VITAL work?

ATCOM HUF-VITAL ensures a comprehensive supplement to daily feeding with 23 additives, including biotin, zinc, diatomaceous earth and lecithin as well as vitamin B12, which is important for liver metabolism. ATCOM HUF-VITAL also contains valuable ingredients such as the amino acids methionine and cysteine, which are essential for keratin formation. Specific natural nutrients from herbs, linseed oil (with the important omega-3 fatty acids), alfalfa and seaweed round off the high-quality composition. European soils are poor in selenium

Since European soils are low in selenium, ATCOM HUF-VITAL contains the selenium necessary for optimal metabolic function. Do I need to feed additional minerals or similar?

Additional supplementary feed can and should be avoided in order to avoid nutrient imbalance or oversupply.

A word about bran

Feeding large amounts of bran should be avoided because bran contains phytates. These can make iron absorption more difficult and inhibit the absorption of other minerals or trace elements.

And after the treatment?

After the treatment has ended (improvement of hoof problems after about 9 - 12 months, improvement of mane and tail growth after about 3 months, support of coat change after about 4 weeks, improvement of general condition after about 1-2 months), ATCOM HUF-VITAL should be fed at 2/3 of the treatment dosage in order to maintain the results achieved. Alternatively , ATCOM NUTRI-VITAL can also be fed. Both products can be fed to your horse safely over the long term. This will prevent deficiency symptoms permanently.
